so… I met a Feng Shui Master yesterday.
people that follow the principles of Feng Shui believe the color pink means something. and, it’s related to Victoria Secret. so, Feng Shui isn’t necessarily arcane by it’s nature.
however, according to the Ballard Poll (I’ll stand in refusal to, otherwise, cite it, here), people that take the position of being serious about Feng Shui are typically self-entitled, a bit (well… more than a bit) snotty, bossy, and overly neat.
I’m bossy. and, I’ll toss in opinionated. I don’t know if I’m snotty. but, I do put on an unreasonable air of superiority, now-and-again.
in any event, I have found that, generally speaking, people that
thrust upon us follow Feng Shui, bug me. that master (of his own domain) certainly did. he had a limp handshake and wore a cardigan. so, I’ll likely follow the aforementioned poll and hold “fengers” in a measure of disdain. If I knew many that could demonstrate that their practice(s) some how give them a clear advantage, I might surrender myself, more often, to said structure.
I’m neat in my own cluttered way. I have eclectic tastes when it comes to decor – as well as activities. I have a “Fenger” in our offices, often. and, she gets agitated by fast moving (and thinking) people. she is always trying to arrange
things objects in my office. I think it’s okay to have books piled up on the floor. and, pictures. doing things on my terms works for me. so, that’s where I pull and push my positive energy.
as matters stand, I’m declaring something of a victory, here. At home I’ve s defiantly (defiantly) shoved my working desk (now, according to a book that describes all things Feng Shui, by placing a Dragon on our desk, we can apparently bring the“Dragon’s Luck” to us as well as protect us from harmful energy) up against a wall with my back to a broad entryway. and, as I tap this missive into my Apple wireless keyboard (correct, I’m not currently using the Android box), I’m doing so with the grim satisfaction that I’m something of a rebel.
peace be to my brothers and sisters.

Sometimes we simply must set the rough-and-tumble of life aside, and just breathe (some of those times are chest-clenching gasps).
I had an awesome weekend of soccer with my daughter Haley Anne. She had one of the best tournaments of her achingly young life. And, as both a coach, and certainly a Dad, I was so proud of her. Especially in the finals wher she swept any hope of victory out of our opponents hands again, and again, and again leading the defense through four matches with only two goals against us.
We had a slow start Saturday morning losing to the Hinesville Gators (that apparently were undefeated through the regular season and the tournament with no goals against), but surged in the last fifteen minutes to set the pace for the rest of the tournament. We saw some dramatic action, and we proved that we can play and beat anybody with fantastic play from each and every player. In the finals we got that first match back against the Gators for the tournament Cup.
Thank you, and Shockers all.
NOTE: In last year’s Kohl’s Cup U14 Shockers Christy and Mars guest played for (now) sister team JBS Breakers who beat that same Hinesville Gators team in the finals. It was also that very same Gators squad that hurt (then) U14 Breakers Colette with an injured ACL. So, a JBS U14 team has won consecutive Kohl’s Cups and fought through the Gators to earn that distinction, while exacting a form of satisfaction (we should not use words like revenge or vengeance – oops, I just did!) for Colette along the way.

so… at some uncertain point when the cool night melted in the face of the relentless sun, time stood still, but for a moment, as a significant milestone in the form of the number of visitors to this Blog surpassed a rather large number.
At museums around the world, I am not only allowed, but encouraged, to touch the art.
I am pleased, but more so, satisfied.
meanwhile… I will submit the fervent prayer that, because you are my friends, and I really do care a great deal for you; all of you – even Peter R…. and, as a direct result of this, and other events and such matters, I’ll hope there is always a cold – icy cold – Fat Tire, Modelo Especial, or even a Doe Equis Amber (in a pinch) nestled in your cooler.
this, and all the victories, are ours, shared.
peace be to my Brothers and Sisters.
